Don't be a child
PC culture is important. Why? Because our society is filled with individuals who are sensitive over reactors. They are the ignorant, the stubborn, and the unyielding. They are in the right, to them, and they know all, again according to them. It's evident in their speech, behavior, and personality. And speaking to them, is usually not worth anyone's time. I know it usually depends on the discussed matter, but most dialogue, at least to the cynical me, usually does not hold much importance. I'm not exactly saying an unimportant conversation should cease to exist, but getting emotional over non-important issues is embarrassing and annoying. My reaction to the act would usually remain quiet until the tantrum comes to pass. My action may seem negatively passive, but it is a logical action. What's the point of going through the hassle if arguing would be futile from the start.
Appealing to "children" through the filter of the "word police" is not out of fear, but out logical necessity. If the individuals who are not "children" can appeal to "children" through "polite language", then why not? PC culture shrouds true intents? If your true intent is to become emotional, then you too are a child. Insensitivity can have its advantages, but it all depends on the "seriousness of [a] situation".

I agree that people may try to be politically correct to an extreme, which can lead to unneeded conflicts over trivial matters, like the use of king, lord, and master in "The Word Police." Political correctness can also prevent people from sharing their own opinions, as they may feel afraid from sharing them. Well done!
